How LA Moms Roll to the Polls

We are rockin’ & rollin’ this week in the southland! Here’s another one of my handy cheat sheets for what’s going on in LA for families right now.

Time to wrap up the craziness of Halloween events, class parties & trick-or-treating leftovers. I’m blurry-eyed writing this post in the garage among boxes of holiday decor, exhausted, running on fumes of PSL’s & fun-size chocolate bars. Talk about scary. The Holiday Season has only begun!

But right here right now in LA we need to keep. on. going.

Because these next few days require Moms to be on our A-game. Push through! After we wrap this one up, then we can take a little break.

Just kidding! You’re a mom. No vacation for you. I’ll settle for a kid-free trip to Target with a fresh (not cold yet) coffee to cruise the new Christmas displays. You with me? Now get ready, set, & off we go:

Saturday & Sunday bring the kids to DTLA for the LA BABY SHOW. We go every year because I’m usually Hosting a red carpet or my non-profit Moms In Media & Ent is helping produce the VIP Mom Lounge.

Tomorrow is especially exciting as Media Mom Sisanie from Ryan Seacrest’s morning radio show on KIIS fm, will be doing the ribbon-cutting ceremony to kick it off. I also recommend visiting one of our favorite charities & the bakery where most of our Christmas gifts are bought (It’s a sweet gift that makes everyone happy & does so much good) the Cookies for Kids Cancer booth.

Then on Monday -up until the 9th- you can drop off your leftover Halloween candy & get it the heck out of your house before you eat it all. Hey I’m with you in this sister.

Operation Gratitude will take it off your hands & ship it over to our US Military Troops, far enough away from you so you can’t get your hands on it after the kids have gone to bed & you’re binge-watching Game of Thrones.

Again, this is something you can do as a family while teaching your little ones about giving back & finding new ways to avoid waste. It’s a win win win. Here’s the LA map of candy drop-off locations.

Tuesday is ELECTION DAY. Bring the kids to experience the importance of exercising our freedom to have our voices heard. Find your polling place & learn how to make this an unforgettable & invaluable experience for the whole family.

I’ve got an easy-to-follow complete free Tool Kit for you which will make the voting experience (with kids) easy & fun! It’s a great helper, made to  accompany you on Election Day. Thanks to my friends at First 5 LA  for creating it. Please remember to use the tag #MyFamilyVotesLA if you share about voting on social media!

LA Baby show Mayor Eric Garcetti Our Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti has also worked with a team to provide free & discounted public transportation on Tuesday. How awesome is that? Find out more here & keep in mind Lyft/Uber have also promised to offer deals. Be sure to ask them about it.

It’s an exciting time for families in our city. I hope this post gave you some ideas & resources about how you’re family can do LA, your way.

Got ideas I can include in a post like this? Share in the comments below! I’d love to feature your suggestions in a future article.
