Momtourage Hosts Fall Preview for Bloggers at Walt Disney Studios

It’s a surreal Sunday morning. Totally empty. The hills above the Cahuenga pass are misty and Media City Center is a ghost town. I love experiencing these rare quiet moments in such a big busy town. It’s like being inside Disneyland after the park has closed. (I’ll save that for a future Disney post.)

When I produce an event I like to be there early. As a former line-producer I am used to being here as the trucks load in and staying until I see their taillights leave the site. Waking up early was such a challenge in my 20’s. Luckily now I have 5 alarm clocks! My two small children, new kitten, lazy chihuahua & the iPhone I still sleep with even though I know I’m not supposed to (Read Ariana Huffington’s book. She’s so right literally about everything.)

This morning I’m producing, coordinating & hosting a special screening with Disney Channel for Mommy Bloggers & Family Lifestyle Influencers.  They’re PR team is outstanding. Really, second to none. And with all my years in media, hosting events for big radio stations and mom-blogging for a decade.. We make a really good team together for these kinds of promotions. I’m lucky to get to work with such great people & do what I love to do. I won’t lie though. This event is a lot of work. Here’s a little rundown for you if you want to know how something like this get’s put together.

First, it has to be great event. That means a good venue and interesting content. That was an easy one to check off when the venue is the original Walt Disney Studios on Buena Vista Street. And the content was a sneak peak preview of the upcoming Fall Line-up for Disney Channel including the highly anticipated “Legendary” Music Video before it debuted!

Secondly there needs to be a top notch list of attendees who will show up (there is always about 10-30% fall-off at an event), present themselves professionally, and create interesting social media content for their followers (they do need to have a good number of followers).

Thirdly a Host is needed to put 1 & 2 together, execute the event as an MC to make the guests feel comfortable and informed, hype the crowd with good energy and give all instructions, then follow up afterwards on all of the blogs/social media accounts (in this case 150+ seats were filled) to compile a report for the client.

That’s what momtourage media brands LLC does in a nutshell. I feel privileged to call this a “job” because it’s all work that I truly enjoy doing, with women I think are so special and so talented. Yay us. 🙂
