I’m joining the team. The TODAY Show #ParentingTeam and I couldn’t be more thrilled, and honestly, a little scared. This has been a long time coming, but I just couldn’t make the commitment to jump in. This is a lot of writing. and researching, and reflecting on my own parenting style every day. That’s a big commitment because I’d have been liking the idea of being a “semi-retired broadcaster”. Has a nice ring to it. But, people keep talking with me about things that sound really interesting to me and I end up trying stuff when I know that I like the people who I’d be working with. This case is one of those things.

Now doooooooon’t get me wrong. I am so not saying that I’ll be jumping on a plane every Thursday to come home from New York to spend time with my family because my TV show actually shoots on the East Coast (although that schedule had come up a little while back- can you believe it?). I won’t stop Chairing PTA functions, or miss my Science Foundation meetings, or my duties as Room Mom or miss my boy’s Little League games. I made the choice to bend, pivot, shuffle-ball-step my way into a good place where I can have access to the entertainment industry that brings me joy, while also raising my family the way I feel is best.
