Lego Movie 2 opens in theaters nationwide on February 8th, 2019.
We’ve all waited a long time for this movie and it did not disappoint! I just want to tell you right off the bat, that this is not nap-time for parents. Sit up close and pay attention because this is a movie made for your kids that adults of all ages will totally appreciate. Nonstop jokes. Non-stop laughter. Every moment is handcrafted to make sure you are being entertained, just like the toys we’ve known and loved for generations.
The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part is made by some of the same talented people that brought us the first Lego Movie and also Lego Batman. The Lego Movie 2 Executive Producer is friend Chris McKay who will be directing Lego Batman 2 and a live-action film about Nightwing, ..or so I hear. His sharp comedic twists on the dialogue in The Lego Movie 2 will be familiar to you if you were a fan of Robot Chicken on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. And if you’re a purist about superhero movies this film still offers all the right elements do it for you. If your kids are Lego fanatics they’ll be in awe as the animated bricks clicking together and deconstructing and doing all kinds of amazing things. (PS If you’re a mom of that Lego-loving kid and have lost your s&*t when stepping on one of those little suckers, barefoot… It’s not your fault. You’re not alone.)
As a mom myself, I loved the movie. (And I always wear slippers around the house now.) Lego Movie 2 is a smash hit with myself, my daughter and my son and their friend who went with us to the premier. Ages 7, 9 and 10 year old. They all raved about it when we left the Bruin Theatre last weekend. We talked about our favorite parts, from the music to the storyline, the casting, all the voices, special effects, and funny lines. Everything about The Lego Movie 2, is awesome.
