Kim Possible Movie Debuts on Disney Channel Feb 15 8pm ET/PT

I dreamt that I got to watch a sneak peek of the new Kim Possible film in a beautiful movie theatre with all my favorite Disney Channel stars there, while being served trays of Nachos & Churros. Oh wait-a-minute! That’s actually how Disney throws a party in real life! And I got to be there! That was a totally magical Movie Premier Party that Disney Channel PR threw last Wednesday night at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in North Hollywood. And I now know, that it is possible to work a fancy party while eating Frito Bag Walking Tacos. Dreams really do come true…

The fun thing about being a Media Host is that most of the time I’m mixing business with pleasure, and it’s still considered business. Hashtag #bestjobever. Attending the premier of Kim Possible with the stars of the movie and bringing my kids with me and getting to mix it up with colleagues just made me so happy. The highlights of the night (because I can’t pick just one) were the food, the cucumber Agua Fresca that was so refreshing it was just perfect and Green of course, and the Moms. Call ’em “Stage Moms” or whatever, but they are really the proud & devoted mothers of the actors who work professionally in entertainment. It was such a pleasure chatting with them about their kids and the work they’re doing. Such good kids, and such amazing parents who support them.

I got to catch up with a friend I’ve worked with for 20 years, and also see new friends I’ve only just met threw bloggers events. New friends and old friends together made so much sense at that premier. Kim Possible is an animated show from back-in-tha-day and also a new live-action film from right now. I’ve worked in the Entertainment Industry in many different capacities over the years. And I’ve been around entertainment pretty much all my life. I remember a time when I was in high school at LACHSA wondering if I would always work in entertainment or if I should get “a real job”. They say you’re a success in Hollywood if you’ve been able to live off of what you love to do. If that’s the measure of it, then I’ve been lucky to have had success tenfold and I’m really thankful for that. But I fell even luckier to have met the amazing people I’ve gotten to know along the journey.

OK enough sappy stuff let’s get to the movie! In this movie there was laughing, crying, action, lessons, best friend problems and solutions. It had all the marks for me as a mom who wants my kids to see positive influences on their screens. I loved that my kids were watching roll models and learning life lessons in an entertaining way. It opened the discussion about so many things regarding school, and being a tween, and navigating different kinds of friendships. My daughter Izzy was empowered by seeing Kim Possible – an amazing female superhero who was also a really good student in school. My young son Cruzer was also totally entertained by the action and characters too! When we had to take a bathroom break in the middle of the movie (because that’s what moms and seven-year-olds do) he ran to the bathroom yelling “I am Cruz Possible!” and told me that we had to hurry up ’cause he didn’t want to miss a second of this movie!

We sat right in front of the whole cast. Me and Johnny Knoxville and his kids in the second row. My kids were in the very front row sharing a seat together. It was a packed house so they smooshed happily into a single seat. -Which of course I thought was extra adorable.- Hey, I’ll be honest. I didn’t think that Izzy would let her little brother sit on her lap for the length of a whoooooooole movie, but the movie was so good that those two little cherubs shared one seat and did not squabble one time! If a movie connects kids and keeps sibling rivalry at bay, then I am in 100% on board with it!

I can’t recommend this movie enough, whether you were an original Kim Possible animated series fan or if you’re new to the franchise like my kids were. Everything from the acting to the storyline to the emotional moments, to the music, wardrobe, hair and makeup (OMG!) it was all an A+++

Kim possible the movie premieres today on the Disney Channel. Don’t miss it. There’s also a sneak peek of something really cool if you watch on time. My kids got to see it early at the premiere and trust me you don’t want to miss it. They are super duper excited and I know your kids will be too 😉

PS special voice actor shout-out to my homey Nancy Cartwright who reprised her role as the naked mole rat. Woot Woot! She was there too for the premier and I just love her.
