You ARE A Good Mother And This Printable Will Remind You

Mothering #QOTD YOU are a good mom

I’m a visual person. I need to see it to believe it. I need to see my calendar on the wall or I won’t remember where I’m supposed to be. When I diet, I need post-its on the fridge. I need to see good things around me to feel good. I’m affected by what I see. Sometimes I need to see something for myself in order to believe it. I need to see it, therefore I print it.

Are you a “visual” person like me?

As a kid I’d tear out pictures & cut articles from magazines & cover my door with a collage of visual inspiration & expression of how I was feeling inside. I taped up the step-by-step workouts from inside my Shape magazine, next to a cover shot of Cindy Crawford, eye-level in front of my treadmill. No joke. Even now, I have menu plans & grocery lists up in my kitchen & inside my cabinets. I have positive affirmations tucked inside the pockets of my purse. I still need to see things to believe them, and what I see affects how I feel about myself.

Some things never change. (Seriously. Like Cindy Crawford. Has she aged at all? Love her.)

Read What Inspired My Post: This article “Modern Myths That Are Making Motherhood Miserable”

It is actually about all of the other things in the world that HAVE CHANGED. It delves into how much things have dramatically changed especially for modern moms. When I first discovered this article I read it 3 times, & then guess what I finally did. Yep. I printed it. Stuck it up in my home office.

Rockin’ it old school. (And a nod to the new school too.)

After fully absorbing the strength of those words- wow- and printing it out, and taping it up on the wall at home.. I decided it needed to be virtually taped to everyone else’s wall too! That’s why I’m sharing it here.

I hope that by putting it out there, on my blog, on the TODAY Parenting Team website, I’m encouraging you to click, glance, read & maybe even get all printer-friendly with it. This is how I think we can take the best care of ourselves: By thanking ourselves for being awesome moms. Yes, we are good moms and if you aren’t hear it enough, then you are going to SEE IT right here!

I can’t thank Beth Berry enough for writing this piece.

Sometimes (or maybe more often), we only see what we want to see. But there are those magic moments when we see what we need to see. This, is one of those.

Take care of yourself and please #share this with other moms who may need the reminder. I think we could all use the reminder that we are GOOD and we can feel good about ourselves. We not only deserve that, but we need it.

Leave a comment below if you have ever felt like a “less-than good” mom & what you do to feel better.
